Dr. Collin Kwasnik, the owner of Kwasnik Family Dental, is no ordinary dentist. He has dedicated his career to improving people’s lives and the communities he serves. With extensive training and a deep commitment to community outreach, Dr. Kwasnik is not just a dentist; he’s a catalyst for positive change.

Dr. Kwasnik’s impressive educational background includes a General Practice Residency at the University of Vermont Medical Center. During this time, he gained invaluable experience in a hospital setting, working on complex oral and maxillofacial surgery cases and handling dental and facial trauma. His comprehensive approach to dentistry goes beyond the norm.

Beyond his clinical expertise, Dr. Kwasnik actively engages in dental education and outreach. With extensive training and a profound commitment to community outreach, he’s on a mission to make a positive impact. He founded and presided over the Academy of General Dentistry Student Chapter, as well as serving on the Global Oral Health Committee at Stony Brook Dental School. These roles led him to participate in several outreach missions both domestically and internationally (Madagascar), providing essential dental care to underserved communities. Dr. Kwasnik also takes in several students a year to mentor, as a small thanks to those who mentored him. Dr. Kwasnik’s commitment and support for community involvement, hands-on skills, and dedication to his patients set him apart as a dentist with true compassion for his community and its members.

In his personal life, Dr. Kwasnik enjoys hands-on activities like construction and woodworking. He loves spending time outdoors with his wife, veterinarian Taylor Kwasnik, and their lively collection of pets, making his life a true adventure. He also is involved in trying to change the landscape of waste in the healthcare sector by decreasing its ecological footprint. Dr. Kwasnik has been published in several national dental magazines on this topic as well as awared for his prototypes with a novel plastic. This plastic material is completely natural and biodegradable, made by bacteria utilizing waste streams and then formed into single use items for use in healthcare. With his motto of “community first and business second,” Dr. Kwasnik treats his patients like extended family and supports the local community whenever possible. His remarkable dedication to his profession, his patients, and his community is what sets him apart as a dentist with a heart.

  • 2020-2021: University of Vermont General Practice Residency
  • 2016-2020: Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine. Awarded the Thomas and Nicolina Nasti scholarship for his scholastic achievement. Awarded for his excellence in Prosthodontics.
  • 2019: New Yorks Regional Entrepeneur Challenge winner for the development and prototyping of biodegradable plastics in the healthcare sector. 
  • 2011-2015: University of Vermont College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. Graduated with highest honors, Summa Cum Laude, 4-time recipient for his scholastic achievements in the Biological Sciences, pre-dental society founding member and member of the UVM club hockey team.
  • 2011: Fletcher Buster Brush award given by the Make A Wish foundation. Awarded annually to a Vermont or New Hampshire individual that demonstrates high athletic achievement, hard work, community service and leadership, all while exemplifying the motto “service above self”.

Dr. Corin Kwasnik, DMD

Dr. Corin Kwasnik hails from the small town of Williamstown, VT. His educational journey commenced at Northfield Mount Hermon preparatory school, where he spent the years from 2011 to 2015. Driven by his passion for soccer, he pursued a semester of collegiate soccer at Boston University. Later, he transferred to Montana State University, graduating in 2019 with a degree in exercise science.

Dr. Kwasnik’s pursuit of knowledge and dedication to dentistry led him to Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, where he studied from 2019 to 2023. His commitment to community service and civic engagement earned him a place in Tisch College’s Honors Civicus Society. During his final year at Tufts, he was selected for advanced programs in Periodontology and Aesthetic Dentistry, enhancing his skills to provide exceptional care to patients.

For Dr. Kwasnik, dentistry is the perfect amalgamation of healthcare, art, engineering, and science. He is particularly fond of the preventive aspects of dentistry, relishing the opportunity to educate patients on maintaining their oral health. Continuing the family legacy at Kwasnik Family Dental in Berlin, VT, he takes pride in caring for generations of families who seek to improve their oral health. Dr. Kwasnik’s clients appreciate his passion for dentistry and their well-being, ensuring that every visit to Kwasnik Family Dental is both painless and enjoyable.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Dr. Kwasnik is the youngest of the 15 Kwasnik siblings. He shares his life’s adventures with his fiancé, Cassidy Norton, embracing outdoor activities such as ultra running, hiking, skiing, and mountain climbing. Driven by a remarkable goal, he is in the process of conquering the highest peak in each of the 50 United States. With just California left to scale, he is on the verge of accomplishing this impressive feat.

Working at Kwasnik Family Dental is not just a profession for Dr. Kwasnik; it’s an opportunity to continue the legacy established by his uncle and mother. The practice has been serving the community since 1970, and Dr. Kwasnik takes immense pride in seeing generations of families return for care. Katie Thygesen

Registered Dental Hygienist

Our registered dental hygienist Katie Thygesen is a talented member of the team here at Kwasnik Family Dental. Her family has a long history in the state of Vermont and we’re so glad to have her with us.

Katie earned her associate’s degree in dental hygiene in 2018 and completed her bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene in 2019 at Vermont Technical College. Katie is also a member of the National Dental Hygiene Honor Society.

Meeting new people is one of Katie’s favorite parts of the job. She says she really enjoys learning something new every day, so getting to know patients personally and educating them about oral health are the highlights of her daily routine.

What do our patients like about Katie? She works to provide a comfortable environment for them. She is very relatable and approachable – Katie loves to talk and listen and she cares about each patient beyond just their teeth. She says, “They really appreciate that I don’t make them talk when I’ve got my hands in their mouth!”

Katie likes working at Kwasnik Family Dental because she is very family-oriented, so she really enjoys that we are a family-oriented practice. Staying close to home is very important to her, and working with us allows her to maintain that connection with her family.

When she’s not at work Katie can be found kayaking, hiking, and gardening. When the weather doesn’t agree, she enjoys crocheting, calligraphy, and baking. Katie loves her two cats, Tom and Brady, and rooting for her beloved New England Patriots.

Charleen Blow

Hygienist

A key team member here at Kwasnik Family Dental is our hygienist Charleen Blow. Charleen is a graduate of the University of Vermont, receiving her degree in 2004.

Charleen really enjoys meeting new patients. She says that meeting people from so many different backgrounds is her favorite part of working with us. She says, “Our office accepts every walk of life and treats each person as they would their own family.”

Our patients love her too, because she really listens to each of their needs and works with them to achieve the best oral health possible.

When Charleen isn’t helping patients in the office, she loves to get outdoors. Hiking and biking are two of her favorite activities and she’s usually accompanied by her trusty pup Kooper.

Jenifer Kelley

Administrative Assistant

Our administrative assistant Jennifer Kelley is a valued member of our team here at Kwasnik Family Dental. With over 20 years of experience in customer service, she sees every patient that comes through our doors.

Jennifer enjoys interacting with our patients and they love her because she is very compassionate. She cares for each of our patients and enjoys getting to know each one of them.

We pride ourselves in having a warm, friendly atmosphere in the office. When we asked Jennifer why she enjoys working with our team so much, she said simply, “because we are family.”

Jennifer is a mom to a wonderful 13-year-old daughter and together, they live on Joe’s Pond with their two dogs. They take advantage of where they live whenever possible, and enjoy the relaxing pond life.

Erin Karasinski

Dental Assistant

Erin Karansinski is a well-rounded, important part of our team at Kwasnik Family Dental. Along with her associate’s degree in business administration, she has also earned radiology privileges, which makes her uniquely skilled and flexible.

Erin has over 12 years of experience in dentistry. She loves the work and enjoys providing a nurturing experience to all of our patients. When people come in for treatment, many of them have a fear of dentistry. Erin works to make their experience as personal as possible by listening and making accommodations for their needs.

When asked, Erin said she enjoys working with our team at Kwasnik Family Dental because everyone gets along so well. The team keeps things positive and united in the goal of achieving positive results for all our patients. She also enjoys the flexibility that the job provides and that it allows for a robust work-life balance.

Life in Vermont has many advantages and Erin enjoys it here in our beautiful state. When she’s not working, she loves to spend time with her boyfriend, stepson, and daughter. They have a family camp in the Northeast Kingdom (NEK) where they enjoy being active together hiking, fishing, boating, and snowshoeing.

Alanna

Dental Assistant

Alanna brings her passion for dental assisting to create a warm and welcoming environment for patients at Kwasnik Family Dental. Alanna’s journey in the field began in 2023 when she completed the Dental Assisting Program at the Center for Technology, Essex. Her enthusiasm for her role stems from the ever-changing nature of her work. Alanna appreciates how each day brings new experiences, the opportunity to connect with patients, and learn about their lives.

Patients at Kwasnik Family Dental enjoy their interactions with Alanna because of her approachable and understanding nature. She is easy to talk to, making them feel at ease during their visits. Beyond her professional life, Alanna’s personal interests reflect her love for the outdoors. In her free time, she enjoys horseback riding and watching football. The sense of camaraderie at Kwasnik Family Dental makes Alanna’s work enjoyable, as the team is known for its mutual support and amiable atmosphere.

Shaylee

Registered Dental Hygienist

Shaylee graduated in 2020 from Vermont Technical College with a degree in Dental Hygiene. Her passion for her role is evident in her genuine desire to connect with patients from all walks of life, to listen to their stories, and to boost their confidence in their unique and beautiful smiles. Patients at Kwasnik Family Dental enjoy their interactions with her because she not only provides exceptional dental care but also ensures that each appointment is a comfortable and enjoyable experience. Her friendly and empathetic nature shines through as she attentively listens to patients. 

Outside of the dental office, Shaylee embraces her Central Vermont roots, having been born and raised in the area. She has a deep appreciation for her extensive extended family and spends her free time engaging in various hobbies, such as fishing, snowmobiling, swimming, and archery. Shaylee’s two beloved dogs, Piper and Maggie May, often take center stage in her conversations, reflecting her enthusiasm for sharing stories about her cherished pets.

Jennifer

Office Assistant & Certified Dental Assistant

With a dental assisting diploma from Essex Technical Center, Jennifer’s journey in the field began in 2003, and her dedication and passion for her role have led her to continue contributing to the practice from 2015 to the present day.  One of Jennifer’s greatest joys in her role is the opportunity to connect with new people. She thrives on the versatility of her job, which allows her to engage with patients on the front lines, provide a listening ear over the phone, or seamlessly transition to assisting the doctors in the clinical area.

Outside of her professional life, Jennifer cherishes quality time with her husband and children, nurturing the bonds of family. Her love for cruising with her loved ones and her penchant for a fun-filled Friday night bingo session showcase her vibrant and adventurous spirit. Jennifer finds immense fulfillment in working at Kwasnik Family Dental, as the practice’s family-oriented environment and the collaborative spirit of her colleagues create a dynamic and supportive team. Everyone contributes their unique strengths, making every day a collective effort to provide excellent patient care.
